Enabling Sustainability of Radio after Emergency (ENSURE): Antenna Foundation Nepal (AFN) under the funding support of Open Society Foundations(OSF) has launched Enabling Sustainability of Radio after Emergency (ENSURE) in September 2018 in an aim to strengthen the capacity of radio stations through better radio programming and management and to increase local governments accountability in post-earthquake service delivery situation. Solukhumbu, Nuwakot, Dhading, Bhaktapur and Banke are the five districts this project is working on. This project will end in December 2019. Under this project, AFN aims to build capacity of its partner radio stations for institutional development, resource generation and quality program production through onsite training and constant mentoring. Radio Dhading, Nuwakot FM, Radio Janasanchar, Solu FM and Rubaru FM from Dhadhing, Nuwakot, Bhaktapur, Solukhumbu and Banke respectively. Likewise, under this project AFN in an aim to continue building the capacity of radio journalists virtually, is setting up an e-learning centre (named Online Training and Resource -Radio i-Learn). Rubaru FM will also be supported with required technical equipment for effective functioning of radio station. Apart from the flagship programs that each partner radios will produce, AFN will also design and produce the weekly live call in show Nepal Chautari on local development and governance restructure issues. For promotion of accountability among local governments and the reconstruction implementation agencies, dialogue between the media and concerned authorities will be held through locally produced radio programs.
