Radio for Integrated Sustainability after Emergencies (RISE)

In January 2016, Antenna Foundation Nepal launched ‘Radio for Integrated Sustainability after Emergencies (RISE)’ project in seven of the most earthquake-affected districts, namely Gorkha, Rasuwa, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha, Okhaldhunga,Kavre and Ramechhap, with the aim of supporting selected 10 local radio stations from those districts.
As part of the project, AFN has conducted 11 training events to build capacity of the local radio stations in four major areas: program production, institutional development, fundraising and audience interaction. After the training, each radio station will produce four radio magazine programs with 30 to 45 minutes in length.
Also the project helps the local radio stations to understand the changing media consumption patterns and habits of mass audiences, perform SWOT analysis and devise effective strategies for institutional growth and development.
The RISE is funded by Open Society Foundation (OSF).
