Postcards from America is a magazine exploring democratic practices through the voices of Nepalese living in the United States of America
Postcards from America is an approach to engage Nepali’s in a discussion of America and American values as viewed through the optic of the Nepali Diaspora. It is an effort to present a nuanced and practical view of life in America.
Our aim was to capture provocative conversations that parallel some of the pressing social issues that Nepal itself is grappling with, including identity and politics, constructive dissent, religious freedom and civic activism and responsibility. We have revolved around the following themes while making our programs:
Dreams and Sacrifices
Nepali Students: Mission and Realities
Labor and Employment Opportunities
Money, Money, Money: Business and Entrepreneurship
The System: Rule of Law
State Services
Politics
Civic Engagement and Responsibility
Nepali Identity: Culture and Tradition
Nepali Identity: Generation Gap
Nepali Identity: Inclusion and Discrimination |
