Tiger Habitat Conservation Program

 Antenna Foundation Nepal (AFN) in collaboration with WWF Nepal has launched the Tiger Habitat Conservation Program (THCP) in May 2018 with the aim of raising awareness and providing knowledge and information to the local communities on restoring tiger and prey-based habitats, preventing and reducing human-tiger conflict and increasing anti-poaching efforts in core, buffer zone and critical corridors across the Chitwan-Parsa-Valmiki complex. The project will end in December 2018.
 
Under this project, AFN is producing five PSAs (each one minute in length) and 10 radio program episodes (each 30 minutes in length). The radio program named ‘Hello Tiger’ is broadcast from AFN’s 7 partner radio stations namely, Radio Parasi, Parasi Bazar,  Nawalparasi; Vijay FM, Gaidakot, Nawalparasi; Radio Madi, Madi, Chitwan; Kalika FM, Bharatpur, Chitwan; Manahari FM, Manahari, Makwanpur, Radio Birgunj, Birgunj, Parsa; and Vijayabasti FM; Subarnapur, Thori.
 
Likewise, AFN is installing 12 hoarding boards and 6 billboards, after designing appropriate layouts and crafting effective messages on the project themes, along major highway junctures and other strategic locations in the project coverage area. The project covers major locations of Chitwan, Makwanpur, Bara, Parsa, and Nawalparasi districts.
